The official Research description establishes top-fed material and two valid heat sources. Official material pages confirm two concrete outputs: Copper becomes Liquid Copper in a Smelter, and Gold can be processed into Liquid Gold.
Setup and Production Role
Route the solid input onto the top surface and provide heat either from a Thermal Buffer or nearby Lava. In the copper chain, move the resulting Liquid Copper with Pump, Pipe and Liquid Vent toward a Copper Mold; keep that liquid line separate from other fluids.
