Quick Start: Your First Automated Factory
This route teaches the minimum controls and production logic needed to leave manual Gold behind. Build the first Shaker, unlock Logistics, automate Water-to-Wet-Sand transport and plan for the byproduct chain.
Practical guide 1. Make Wet Sand and Place the Collector
Dig Sand, move it into the starter Water with the Grabber and feed the resulting Wet Sand to a Shaker. Put a Collector beneath the Gold outlet so physical Gold becomes research currency. Build Foundations around the landing area to keep output contained.
2. Learn the Three Build Controls
- Q: open the build menu.
- F + click: copy the targeted structure in the demonstrated control scheme.
- X: enter deletion mode; right-click cancels the current command.
3. Save Residue and Unlock Logistics
Capture Residue from the first Shaker rather than letting it spill away. Spend the first 30 Gold shown in the walkthrough on Logistics, then use Conveyors for horizontal movement and Launchers for vertical/diagonal lifts.
Conveyor arrows show direction. A Launcher throws from its highest end toward the side indicated during placement, so test the landing point before enclosing it.
4. Automate the Wetting Loop
Run a Conveyor through the Water and use a Launcher to lift Wet Sand out toward the Shaker. The Water is consumed by wetting Sand, so the starter pond is a buffer, not a permanent unlimited source.
Explore for additional Water or Ice. Later, heat can turn Water into Steam; Steam rises, condenses at the sky and falls as rain. Keep open vertical space above a phase-change Water setup or collect the rain elsewhere.

5. Expand Along the Byproduct Chain
Tier 2 burns Residue and presses Burnt Residue into more Gold plus Seeds. The following tier combines Seeds with Water. This pattern continues: one stage’s byproduct becomes the next stage’s feed.
Start with small working modules, but leave physical space and connection points for the next chain. That is more valuable than perfecting a compact layout you must demolish one tier later.
